Lights! Camera! Action!

Are you an aspiring filmmaker? Do you dream of having your filmwork showcased internationally?

The Why Study in Alberta Video Contest is the perfect opportunity for students in Grades 9 to 12 to create a video that showcases the top 5 reasons to study in Alberta.

The top selected videos will be used to encourage youth from around the world to join our Alberta schools and expand our global community. The videos will be displayed on the Speak Out website, the Study in Alberta website, and used during Alberta Education’s international missions.

Video Criteria

  • Your video must be no more than 2 minutes long
  • Your video must be a mp4 video format
  • Your video must reflect what you think are the top 5 reasons to study in Alberta
  • Team entries are allowed however only 1 prize will be awarded
  • One entry can be submitted per student/team

How to Enter your Video

All entries will be accepted until 4:00 p.m (MST) on March 30, 2012. To submit your video, you can upload your video right here or Mail in your video to:

All applicants must complete and submit a Declaration and Official Entry Form and mail it to the above address. If a team is submitting an entry, each team member must submit a Declaration and Official Entry Form. Remember: If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or guardian must sign your entry form.

Winning Videos

After March 30th, our judges will select the top videos to be posted on the Study in Alberta website and the Speak Out website. Entries will be judged on originality, quality, and effectiveness of the message. The top entrants will receive:
